Coroner: Crash victim died of head, neck injuries

While an official cause of death has not yet been determined, the Mahoning County Coroner’s office on Wednesday reported the victim of a fatal crash that after a police chase suffered multiple head and neck injuries.

That finding followed an autopsy on Taylor Duvall, 23, of Pasadena Avenue.

Duvall was the passenger in a vehicle that rolled over that Zedaker and Compton avenues on the South Side after the vehicle reportedly fled from Boardman police early Tuesday.

Police say the driver was Nicole Mitchell, 32, of Boardman. Boardman police were awaiting her release from the hospital to serve her with arrest warrants on charges of complicity to commit theft and failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer.

Police said Mitchell and Duvall were shoplifting from a Market Street Walgreens in Boardman before the police pursuit.
