Sharon Regional’s Senior Circle program is a membership-based program that promotes healthier lifestyles for adults 50 and older. Lunch n’ Learn Physician Health Seminar: noon to 1 p.m. Jan. 19, Diagnostic & Imaging Center, 2435 Garden Way Hermitage. The topic is treating joint pain.

‘Music is Healing’ set

SALEM

The Salem Public Library’s first Wellness Wednesday series programming for 2017 is “Music as Healing” from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the library, 821 E. State St.

The program is free and open to the public.

Kira Seaton, assistant professor of music at Cuyahoga Community College, will discuss what music does to heal the savage beast and how listening and participation in music make a difference in physical, mental and emotional well-being.

Free weight loss seminar offered

BOARDMAN

The Ohio Naturopathic Wellness Center in Boardman is offering a free weight loss seminar at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at 755 Boardman-Canfield Road, Suite D3, Southbridge West Complex led by Dr. Ted Suzelis, a local authority on natural medicine and the Blood Type Diet. During the seminar, Dr. Suzelis discuss how to lose weight, increase energy, and solve digestive problems.

Career fair at ACH

Akron Children’s Hospital will have a career fair for a variety of openings in its school health and home health programs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Jan. 16 in the Cedar Pine Building on Akron Children’s campus), 185 W. Cedar St. Openings include positions for licensed practical nurses and medical assistants.

Interviews are by invitation only. Before coming for an interview, interested candidates should apply online for positions titled Career Fair at www.akronchildrens-jobs.com. Final candidates must be able to pass pre-employment screening, including testing for nicotine, alcohol and drugs.

Free sibling class

SALEM

To help siblings prepare for the arrival of a new baby, Salem Regional Medical Center’s Family Education Program is hosting a free Sibling Class from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Jan. 21. The class is open to children 3-10 and will include age-appropriate discussions on the physical characteristics, behavior and care of newborns. Children attending the class must be accompanied by a parent.

Class participants should meet in New Beginnings Family Care Center, located on the first floor of the hospital at 1995 E. State St. To register, call 330-337-4989. A tour of New Beginnings Family Care Center, SRMC’s maternity unit, will also be provided.
