Man shot in shin off Market in Boardman

Boardman police are looking for a suspect wanted in connection to a shooting at 7 p.m. Saturday on Hillman Way off Market Street behind the Family Dollar store where a 26-year-old man was shot in the leg.
Boardman police said the victim was shot in the shin, and was taken to St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital for treatment, according to 21 WFMJ-TV, The Vindicator’s broadcast partner.
Service to AT&T customers restored

The AT&T telecommunications company reported that phone and internet services, which were out Saturday and early Sunday in several areas including Youngstown and Cleveland, had been restored by Sunday afternoon, reported 21 WFMJ-TV, The Vindicator’s broadcast partner.
According to AT&T’s outage map, some customers had been without services for more than 48 hours. AT&T said a fiber cut caused the outage. It was repaired by about 3 p.m. Sunday.
Columbiana Co. crash kills E. Liverpool man
EAST LIVERPOOL
Troopers from the Ohio State Highway Patrol Lisbon Post are investigating a two-vehicle crash Saturday night on County Road 447 in which Mark A. Short, 45, of East Liverpool, was killed.
Short was traveling south on County Road 447 when a northbound vehicle driven by Jason A. Davis, 40, of East Liverpool, went left of center and struck Short head-on, according to the OSHP.
The crash, in which the OSHP said alcohol is a suspected factor, occurred about 10:04 p.m.
Emergency medical services and rescue personnel from the Liberpool Township Fire Department assisted at the scene of the crash.
Student screening scheduled in Canfield
CANFIELD
Registration and screening for kindergarten students living in Canfield Local School District will take place at C.H. Campbell Elementary School, 300 Moreland Drive, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 7 and at the same time at Hilltop Elementary School, 400 Hilltop Blvd., April 4.
New students in first through fourth grades are welcome to register then as well. Students who are currently in kindergarten in Canfield do not need to register for first grade.

Montessori school sets open house Jan. 29

The Montessori School of the Mahoning Valley invites parents of children age 2 to 4 to experience Montessori education – a hands-on approach to learning that focuses on the whole child.
The open house will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. Jan. 29 at the school, 2008 Lynn Ave.
The Montessori School of the Mahoning Valley serves children age 3 to 14 and is enrolling 3- and 4-year-olds for the 2017-2018 school year.
