Austintown Senior Center, 100 Westchester Drive, has planned the following: Monday, active exercise at 8 a.m., video class, 30 minutes with God and piloxing at 9, sew and crafts and monthly membership meeting at 9:30, senior spinning I, bingo, Windows 10 computer class, painting class and shooting class at 10, lunch at noon, paint and taste at 12:30 p.m., Ebay computer class at 1 and instructor’s choice at 1:15; Tuesday, active exercise at 8 a.m., video class on Masters of War at 9, SOS at 9:30, bingo and crocheting at 10, line dancing at 10:30, chair yoga at 11:30, ballroom dancing at noon, lunch at 12:30 p.m. and coloring book class and AARP monthly meeting at 1; Wednesday, active exercise at 8 a.m., 30 minutes with God, video class on weather and blood pressure checks at 9, bingo, iPad maps, computer class and senior spinning E at 10, quilting class at 10:30, pizza lunch at noon, ukulele class at 12:30 p.m. Microsoft Word computer class at 1 and power pilates at 1:15; Thursday, active exercise at 8 a.m., video class on greatest structures at 8:50, vets helping vets and wood carving at 9, SOS at 9:30, chair yoga and crochet/needlework at 10, knitting at 11, lunch and grocery bingo at noon and coloring book class at 1 p.m.; and Friday, active exercise at 8 a.m., 30 minutes with God, video class on ancient daily life and senior spinning S at 9, senior spinning E at 9:30, bingo at 10 and gardening group and fencing at 11. Gathering Place event, sponsored by Lord of Life Church, Canfield, will meet at 11 a.m. Monday at Lord of Life Church, 550 N. Broad St., Canfield. This is a free community outreach social program offered to all senior citizens that takes place the second Monday of each month.

Guardian Angels of Trumbull County, a volunteer program of the Trumbull County Probate Court, is looking for volunteers. Angel volunteers receive training to become advocates who reach out as friends to seniors who may need a friendly phone call, a visit in a nursing home, or a visit at home. Angels also are involved in planning special events for seniors such as health fairs and Make a Difference day projects. The next meeting will be 5:30 p.m. Feb. 7 at Shepherd of the Valley, 4100 N. Niles S.C.O.P.E. Senior Center, 14 E. State St., will offer the following activities: Thursday, free mammograms with Mercy Hospital Mammovan, must make an appointment and register; Jan. 16, free dental van from Mercy Hospital, call for an appointment; Jan. 20, blood screenings and blood pressures are tentatively scheduled; and Jan. 24, American Red Cross blood drive. Senior Corps Retired Senior Volunteer Program, located in First Presbyterian Church of Youngstown, 201 Wick Ave., is under the Corp. for National and Community Service. It is a volunteer program whose aim is to link volunteers, age 55 and over, with a variety of volunteer opportunities within their community. There are sites throughout Mahoning and Trumbull counties with opportunities such as senior companionship, transcription for museums, meal delivery for home-bound seniors, construction and many other opportunities. There is no maximum requirement of volunteer hours. There is a short application, and the program coordinator will meet with volunteers to match them with their preferred site based on their interests, skills and location.
