Regional student art exhibition will open at YSU

The 2017 Northeastern Ohio Scholastic Art Awards Exhibition will open Monday and run through Jan. 27 in Bliss Hall, on the Youngstown State University campus.

Showcasing artwork from students in Mahoning, Trumbull, Columbiana and Ashtabula counties in grades 7-12, the exhibition will be displayed in the Judith Rae Solomon Gallery, which is open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Students form more than 40 schools submitted 885 entires for the competition.

The awards ceremony will be at noon on Jan. 14 in Bliss Hall’s Ford Theater (junior high ceremony at 1:30 p.m.).

Students who received Gold and Silver Key awards as well as Honorable Mention awards will be honored.
