Chamber offering drug seminar

The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber’s Mahoning Valley Safety Council will have a “Drugs in the Workplace: The Heroin/Opiate Epidemic and Marijuana” seminar from 11:15 a.m. to 1 p.m. Feb. 8 at the Maronite Center, 1555 S. Meridian Road.

VAST luncheon to feature Dave Martin

The Valley Alliance for Science and Technology, VAST, will have a luncheon featuring Dave Martin, founder of Intwine Connect presenting “The Internet of Things” on Jan. 20.

The luncheon will take place from 12 to 1:15 p.m. at the Tech Belt Energy Innovation Center, 125 W. Market St.

Pa. slots revenue dips slightly in ’16

Harrisburg, PA.

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board recently reported total slot machine revenue for 2016 in the state was $2,360,184,122, making for the sixth consecutive year in which revenue has topped $2.3 billion.

That amount is 0.23 percent less than slot-machine revenue in 2015 when gross revenue totaled $2,365,651,659. The highest calendar year for gross slot machine revenue occurred in 2012 when revenue was $2,470,935,317.
