Youngstown cops find gun during traffic stop

YOUNGSTOWN

Police found a .380-caliber handgun in a car about 4:20 p.m. Thursday at Oak Hill and West Avondale avenues after the car was pulled over for blocking traffic.

Reports said Ronald T. Green, 20, of West Evergreen Avenue, a passenger in the car, gave police a false name until they found out he is wanted on a warrant from Texas.

Reports said Green was taken out of the car to be taken into custody because of the warrant and the car was searched because it smelled of marijuana. The gun was found where Green was sitting, reports said.

Green was taken into custody on the warrant and gun and obstruction charges.
