Police are looking for a runaway juvenile who has Type 1 diabetes and may not have his medication with him.

Jawuan Walker, 15, was reported missing New Year’s Day by his mother.

OH WOW! The Roger & Gloria Jones Children’s Center for Science & Technology, 11 W. Federal St., downtown, will offer free general admission to anyone wearing Youngstown State University gear from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. This is being offered in support of the FCS National Championship game in Frisco, Texas, when YSU will play James Madison University.

Shenango siren test at 10 this morning

HERMITAGE, Pa.

The fire department will conduct the monthly test of the Shenango Valley weather warning sirens at 10 a.m. today. The test will include activation of the Clark, Farrell, Sharpsville, Shenango Township, West Middlesex and Wheatland weather sirens. Citizens are asked to disregard the sirens during this time.

Mayor to file

YOUNGSTOWN

Mayor John A. McNally said he will file nominating petitions seeking a second four-year term at 10 a.m. today.

McNally, a Democrat, will be the first candidate to file with the Mahoning County Board of Elections for the position. The deadline to file is Feb. 1. The primary is May 2.

Area restaurant reports theft

Police are investigating a theft case reported at an area restaurant.

The owner of That’s a Wrap Cafe, located on U.S. Route 224, reported to police Tuesday that a generator had been stolen from a truck belonging to the business. The generator’s estimated value is $4,000, according to a police report.

The truck was parked outside the business when the reported theft occurred. The generator, which weighs several hundred pounds, was mounted on the bumper, the victim owner reported.

Youth reports being robbed of Xbox

WARREN

A boy, 17, reported being robbed of a gaming system, cellphone, headphones and two gold chains as he met two males on Olive Avenue Northeast Tuesday morning.

The boy said he received a message on his Facebook account from an unknown person interested in buying his Xbox system.

They made arrangements to meet on Olive for the transaction. When the victim arrived, two males wearing masks who were tall and thin and in their late teens robbed him.

One pulled out a handgun and demanded his valuables. The suspects told the victim they know where he lives.
