Toyota move

ERLANGER, Ky.

Toyota is beginning to move hundreds of jobs out of its northern Kentucky headquarters as part of a nationwide consolidation.

The Kentucky Enquirer reports that workers have begun relocating from Toyota’s Erlanger plant and will continue through the end of 2018. The company is moving its facilities to the Dallas suburb of Plano, Texas. Company officials said the move will affect 648 workers. Company spokeswoman Kelly Stefanich says all employees received a job offer as part of the restructuring.

Building sale

PLANO, TEXAS

J.C. Penney Co. Inc. has completed the sale of its home office building and surrounding 45 acres in Plano, Texas, to Dreien Opportunity Partners LLC, general partner of Silos Opportunity Partners LP, for a gross sale price of $353 million before closing and transaction costs.

The company previously announced that upon the transfer of ownership, JCPenney would lease back about 65 percent of the building, leaving the remaining square footage available for new tenants.

The building lease expense would be offset by a reduction in maintenance costs, property taxes and interest expense as a result of paying down debt with proceeds from the transaction.

Annotated version of ‘Mein Kampf’ a hit in Germany

An annotated edition of “Mein Kampf,” Adolf Hitler’s notorious manifesto, has become a nonfiction best-seller in Germany. The publisher said Tuesday that a sixth print run will go on sale later this month.

Some 85,000 copies of the book have been sold since it was first published a year ago, according to the Munich-based Institute for Contemporary History.

The publisher spent years adding comments to Hitler’s original text in an effort to highlight his propaganda and mistakes.

The nine-second video posted on Twitter on Tuesday shows Officer Ruben De Los Santos lifting the student into the air and dropping her to the floor before leading her away from a crowd of students at Rolesville High School.

De Los Santos, the school resource officer assigned to the high school, is on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of an investigation, Rolesville Police Chief Bobby Langston said Tuesday evening.

Langston also said that he has asked the State Bureau of Investigation to look into the incident.
