YOUNGSTOWN

Police over the weekend arrested four people and cited a fifth on weapons charges.

Arraigned in municipal court Tuesday on charges of carrying concealed weapons, failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer and tampering with evidence was Quincy Little, 23, of Campbell. Magistrate Anthony Sertick set his bond at $17,500.

Reports said Little was arrested about 12:23 a.m. Tuesday behind a home in the first block of East Boston Avenue after he ran from a traffic stop. Police tried to pull him over for an improper turn and, instead of stopping, he continued driving until he reached a dead end at Brooklyn Avenue, where he stopped his car and ran away.

Reports said officers found a loaded .40-caliber handgun on the path where Little was running, at the area where he was thought to have thrown something.

Also arraigned Tuesday was Tori Letlow, 26, of Mistletoe Avenue, on charges of improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle, driving under suspension, resisting arrest, assault, criminal damaging and a warrant for having no operator’s license.

Reports said Letlow was spotted about 2:40 p.m. Monday in a car next to a vacant house at St. Louis Avenue and Market Street where police were investigating after seeing two men walking around the home. The car Letlow was in smelled like marijuana and he refused two requests to get out before complying, reports said. Officers told him because of the smell of marijuana they had probable cause to conduct a search and to ask him to step out.

Reports said a loaded 9 mm handgun was found inside the car. When Letlow was placed in a cruiser he kicked the window several times and also threatened a police officer.

Magistrate Sertick set his bond at $15,000

Also arraigned was Anthony Mercado, 22, of Campbell, arrested about 3:25 p.m. Saturday in the 100 block of West Delason Avenue. Police found a .40-caliber handgun on him when he was searched. Magistrate Sertick set his bond at $13,500.

E-monee Johnson, 20, of Chatham Lane, was arraigned on a charge of improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle. He was arrested about 1:40 a.m. Saturday at Hillman Street and West Indianola Avenue. Police were in the area investigating reports that two vehicles’ occupants were shooting at each other and Johnson was driving a car that was suspected of being involved.

Reports said Johnson and three passengers were asked to get out of the car because police could smell marijuana inside and wanted to search it. Underneath the driver’s seat officers found a .22-caliber revolver and Johnson was taken into custody. Johnson told police he has had the gun for a year and he paid $100 for it and he knew it was in the car. The three passengers were let go. His bond was set at $10,000.

Arraigned on a charge of using weapons while intoxicated was Victor Aviles, 25, who was found Sunday in a car at Shady Run Road and East Boston Avenue that was suspected of being involved in a shooting incident. Reports said Aviles appeared drunk and there was an unloaded pistol next to him in the car. Aviles was released on summons with a court date.
