2 Valley food chiefs among 3 chosen in Ohio for fed program
YOUNGSTOWN — The food service directors for two area school districts are among three people in the state who have been selected to attend a week-long U.S. Department of Agriculture training program.
Selected are Natalie Winkle and Tascin Brooks, food service directors for Boardman and Austintown school districts, respectively.
Produce Safety University, which trains food service staff to “identify and mitigate food safety risks in fresh produce,” according to a news release, will take place this spring. Winkle and Brooks will attend an all-expense paid session in California, Florida, Maryland, or Illinois.
The Ohio Department of Education nominated three food service directors from the state for the federal program.
