Steel Valley Postal Customer Council plans free seminar

YOUNGSTOWN

The Steel Valley Postal Customer Council has a free seminar planned Jan. 12 to inform businesses of the price changes and sales promotions to be offered in 2017 by the U.S. Postal Service.

The speakers will be Candy Hardesty, sales executive senior, who will speak on price changes, and Mark Daddiro, sales executive senior, will speak on sales promotions.

This event will take place from 10:30 a.m. until noon at the Main Youngstown Post Office, 99 S. Walnut St.

The seminar is free, but the PCC asks that people RSVP to give a head count so they may prepare adequate seating.

Chamber schedules breakfast event on economic forecast

The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber will have the Economic Forecast Breakfast from 7:30 to 9 a.m. Feb. 9 at Mr. Anthony’s, 7440 South Ave.

The chamber and The Manufacturing Advocacy and Growth Network, MAGNET, will present the first Excellence in Manufacturing Award at this event. The event will also feature remarks from Joel Elvery, an economist in the External Outreach and Regional Analytics Department at the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland.

Southern Park plans ‘New Year, New You’

Southern Park Mall, 7401 Market St., will have a “New Year, New You” event from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Jan. 21.

The free event will take place in the J.C. Penney concourse.

Vendors will be at the mall offering fitness, finance and career services.

Chamber seeks awards nominations

The Columbiana Area Chamber of Commerce will recognize individuals, groups and businesses at its 64th Annual Awards Banquet on Feb. 26.

Nominations will be accepted through Jan. 27 for Businessperson of the Year; Educator of the Year; Young Citizen of the Year; Outstanding Community Service Award; and Lifetime of Service Award. Criteria for nominations and nomination forms can be found at www.columbianachamber.com.

The banquet will take place at Das Dutch Village Inn, 150 OH-14.
