Guardian Angels of Trumbull County, a volunteer program of the Trumbull County Probate Court, is looking for volunteers. Angel volunteers receive training to become advocates who reach out as friends to seniors who may need a friendly phone call, a visit in a nursing home, or a visit at home. Angels also are involved in planning special events for seniors such as health fairs and Make a Difference day projects. The next meeting will be 5:30 p.m. Feb. 7 at Shepherd of the Valley, 4100 N. Niles S.C.O.P.E. Senior Center, 14 E. State St., will offer the following activities: 9 a.m. to noon Friday, foot care will be given by Dr. Tom Pokabla. Regular copays apply, must have insurance card and an appointment; Jan. 12, free mammograms with Mercy Hospital mammovan, must make an appointment and register; Jan. 16, free dental van from Mercy Hospital, call for an appointment; 1 p.m. Jan. 16, a trip is planned to the Covelli Center for a Phantoms game. The bus will leave at noon and cost is $25 per person. Grandchildren are welcome to attend with grandparents. Reservation deadline is Friday; Jan. 20, blood screenings and blood pressures are tentatively scheduled; Jan. 24, American Red Cross blood drive.
