2 anti-abortion events set this month in New Castle

NEW CASTLE, PA.
The New Castle Chapter of People Concerned for the Unborn Child is sponsoring two upcoming anti-abortion events.
The 31st annual Light a Candle for Life prayer vigil will take place at 6 p.m. Jan. 20 at Kennedy Square, also known as the Diamond.
The public is invited to kneel, pray and help light 1,000 luminaria candles in memory of the more than 60 million American babies who never got to be born.
A prayer and program will take place at 7 p.m. at St. Mary’s Church, Marian Room, a block from the square. The featured speaker will be Barbara Miller, a registered nurse, Nurse-Family Partnership, UPMC Children’s Advocacy. Her topic will be “Nurses for Healthy Moms, Healthy Babies.”
Prayers will be led by Rev. Father Joseph Codori, Catholic Community of New Castle, and Nettie Bailey, St. John’s United Holy Church.
The 43rd annual March For Life will take place Jan. 27 in Washington, D.C. The New Castle Chapter of People Concerned for the Unborn Child has reserved a 56-passenger bus to the March for Life.
Participants are invited to join hundreds of thousands from across the nation to walk up Capitol Hill to speak with U.S. senators and congressmen.
The bus will depart New Castle at 4:45 a.m. and return between midnight and 1 a.m. Jan. 28. For reservations, call 724-658-8662 or 724-667-9510 or email pcucnc@comcast.net by Thursday.
The cost, which does not include food, is $40 for adults if paid by Jan. 10; $50 after the 10th; $30 for students if paid by Jan. 10; $40 after the 10th. Student groups of five or more cost $25, and there is no charge for clergy.
If unable to attend, the march will be broadcast live on the public-service station EWTN. It also will be replayed at 10 p.m. Jan. 27 and again at 12:10 p.m. Jan. 28. Check the C-Span channels.
