Beginning Monday, East Glacier Drive will be closed to traffic from 7:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. daily, Mill Creek MetroParks announced. The closure will be in place through Friday. Volney Rogers Field and tennis courts will remain accessible.

Advocate to speak on disability rights

The Federation of Families for Children’s Mental Health will present “Services for Children and Families: An Update” from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at First Presbyterian Church, 201 Wick Ave.

The featured speaker will be Ernestine Hargett, disability-rights advocate for Disability Rights Ohio. The cost is $8, which includes lunch. For reservations, call Dorothy Brown at 330-746-0604.

Learn about syrup

MERCER, PA.

The Mercer County Conservation District will host Get Outside Come Alive Series program from 5 to 7:30 p.m. on March 8 to learn about syrup.

The class will begin in the Munnell Run Farm “Pig Barn,” 753 Greenville Road. The cost for the program is $5 for adults; youths 17 and under get in free but must be accompanied by an adult. You must pre-register by calling Jacqueline or Larissa at 724-662-2242. Registration deadline is March. Space is limited.
