Bowl-a-thon set for Saturday

AUSTINTOWN

The 24th annual Junior Achievement Bowl-a-thon will take place from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday at Wedgewood Lanes, 1741 S. Raccoon Road. The theme is “Lights, Camera, Action,” and participants may dress as a favorite movie or TV character. Those who dress in themed attire will have an opportunity to win additional prizes.

More than 140 bowlers will be participating. Teams include employees from General Motors Lordstown, UAW Local 1112, UAW Local 1714, Chemical Bank, Huntington Bank, Youngstown Business Incubator, and Hill, Barth & King LLC.

Proceeds will benefit children’s education programs in Mahoning, Trumbull, Columbiana and Ashtabula counties. Junior Achievement of Mahoning Valley is providing programs of financial literacy, work-readiness and entrepeneurship for 13,000 students this year.
