Police serving warrants discover cash, guns and drugs


YOUNGSTOWN — Police Wednesday serving search warrants investigating drug activity found guns, cash and drugs at two separate homes.

About 6:05 p.m., officers with the vice squad and Community Police Unit serving a warrant at a 428 W. Glenaven Ave. home found four bags of marijuana, a digital scale, a marijuana grinder and a total of $613 cash.

Arrested on a charge of tampering with evidence was Lewis Gibbs, 38, of Garfield Avenue. Arrested on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana was Adrien Brown, who reports said lists the home as his address.

Earlier, about 4:50 p.m., officers serving a warrant at a 929 E. Boston Ave. home found 50 pills, $480 cash and a .44-caliber handgun, a 9mm handgun and a .12-gauge shotgun.

Arrested there on drug charges was Davinna Smith, 33, who reports said listed the home as her address. She was booked into the Mahoning County jail on several drug charges.
