The Vindicator received 17 Ohio Associated Press award nominations

The Vindicator was nominated for 17 Ohio Associated Press Media Editors’ awards for excellence in journalism.
The newspaper is in the division with a daily circulation of 19,000 to 59,999.
The awards in order of finish – first, second and third – will be announced May 21 in Columbus.
The categories and nominees for The Vindicator, announced Monday, are:
Best Headline Writer: Matt Arnold.
Best Columnist: Bertram de Souza and David Skolnick.
Best Editorial Writer: De Souza.
Best Graphics Artist: Robert McFerren.
Best Photographer: William Lewis.
Best Sports Enterprise: Charles Grove and Lewis for “Football Powerhouse Adds First Girl to Roster.”
Best Illustration or Informational Graphic: McFerren.
Best Sports Photo: David Dermer for “Winner” and Nikos Frazier for “Hat Trick!”
Best Video: Sean Ferguson and Dan Wegendt for “50 Years of Lordstown” and Lewis for “Football Spirit.”
Best Public Service: Kalea Hall and Amanda Tonoli for “Mystery Shrouds Neglected Cemetery.”
Best Explanatory Reporting: Skolnick for “Blue Collar Voters for Trump.”
Best Enterprise Reporting: Justin Wier for “Getting Better at the Blight Fight.”
Best Investigative Reporting: Ed Runyan for “Warren Water.”
