City Club of Youngstown has panel discussion March 6

The City Club of the Mahoning Valley will kick off its 2017 program schedule with a panel discussion, “The Future of Public Education in Ohio’s Cities,” March 6 at Stambaugh Auditorium, 1000 Fifth Ave.

The panel features Ohio Senate Minority Leader Joe Schiavoni of Boardman, D-33rd; Youngstown City Schools CEO Krish Mohip; and Christine Fowler-Mack, chief of New & Innovative Schools and Programs, Cleveland Metropolitan School District.

In addition to the panelists, the event also will feature a community stakeholder table that will include teachers, administrators, parents and students from local school districts who will be asked to kick off the audience question-and-answer session.

As with past events, WYSU-FM will live-stream the discussion at wysu.org and re-broadcast the discussion at 6 p.m. March 9 on 88.5 WYSU-FM.

The program also includes dinner. Doors open at 5 p.m. Dinner will be served at 5:30 p.m., and the program will take place from 6:15 to 8 p.m.
