Woman advised to quarantine pit bull

GIRARD

Police have advised a woman to quarantine her pit bull dog after she reported Sunday that it killed her other dog.

Officers responded to a home on the 200 block of Trumbull Avenue on Sunday after a 55-year-old woman said her pit bull killed her chihuahua and bit her granddaughter.

The woman indicated she wanted the pit bull to be euthanized, according to a police report. A representative from the office of the Trumbull County Dog Warden said Tuesday the office is aware of the incident but has not yet been able to make contact with the dog’s owner.

A local ordinance prohibits keeping a pit bull within the city limits.

Woman reports neighbor in home

WARREN

A woman, 25, told police that she awoke at her boyfriend’s home on Francis Avenue Southeast at 5:45 a.m. Monday to her boyfriend’s neighbor standing in the bedroom.

The woman screamed, and the suspect ran out the door, she told police. The woman and her boyfriend said they didn’t know if anything was taken, but the front screen was pried open and the metal front door was kicked in, police said.

The couple said they spoke to the neighbor’s wife, and she said she kicked the man out of the house the previous day because he has a bad drug habit.
