Liberty schools superintendent to retire
Staff report
LIBERTY
The Liberty School District is looking for its next superintendent.
Superintendent Stanley Watson announced he will retire when his contract expires at the end of July.
The school board is slated to formally accept Watson’s resignation at the next regular meeting, beginning at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 27.
The district is now accepting applications for Watson’s replacement. Applications should be submitted by March 1 to district Treasurer Bradley Panak at bradley.panak@neomin.org. More information about the position is listed under the “Human Resources” section of the Trumbull County Educational Service Center website.
Watson joined Liberty schools in 2010 as superintendent. He previously served as Austintown’s superintendent until his retirement from that district in 2005.
Watson, who began his education career in 1974 as a teacher, said he is focused on his remaining time with Liberty schools.
“There’s a lot going on in the next few months,” he said. “It’s going to be business as usual.”
