Two charged in separate vehicles, same chase

YOUNGSTOWN

Police arrested two people Friday evening in two separate vehicles in the same chase.

Reports said police saw a Cadillac and an SUV about 11:55 p.m. at a stop sign and the SUV failed to stop. When police tried to pull the SUV over it drove away, reports said.

As police chased the SUV reports said the Cadillac was getting in the way of the cruiser and at one point appeared to try to hit the cruiser.

Eventually the SUV pulled over at East Auburndale Avenue and Rush Boulevard. Reports said the driver, Vincent E. Hudson, 30, of Early Road, told police he did not pull over at first because he is from Detroit and he was once pulled over by “fake police officers,” and he was afraid it was happening again.

As police were questioning Hudson, the Cadillac came back and the officers called for another cruiser and stopped it. The driver of that car, Rochelle Hudson, 21, was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of obstructing official business and booked into the Mahoning County jail, but later released on a summons, according to jail records. She has a March 20 pretrial hearing, according to court records.

Vincent Hudson was booked into the jail on charges of fleeing and eluding and driving under suspension. He was arraigned in municipal court and has a preliminary hearing set for March 1.

Reports did not say how the two are related.
