Robert Toman, a trustee of Ellsworth Township, and Denny Furman, a trustee of Berlin Township, recently graduated from the Ohio Township Association Leadership Academy, a local government training program. The academy was founded in 2003 to educate elected officials, city staff and employees to develop their decision-making skills while serving in local government positions. Participants must graduate within three years and complete six of the ten courses offered, attend the academy’s general workshop, and either the National Association of Towns and Townships annual conference in Washington D.C. or the OTA Federal Day Workshop in Blacklick, Ohio. Toman and Furman were elected in 2013. Toman, left, and Furman, right, received their diplomas from Tom Willsey, president of OTA. SPECIAL TO THE VINDICATOR
