Girard Multi-Generational Center, 443 Trumbull Ave., will offer the following opportunities: 10 a.m. Monday, snack facts, One on One Computer or Tech Tutoring by appointment (we can assist you with that new cell phone or computer); 9 a.m. Tuesday, Valentine’s Day potluck breakfast; 9 a.m. Feb. 21, home remedies with Harbor Light Hospice; 9 a.m. Feb. 27, Oscar Party potluck breakfast; 9:15 a.m. Feb. 28, cookie decorating with Windsor House; 8:30 to 11 a.m. every morning, coffee bar; 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily, fitness rooms are open; 5 p.m. second Wednesday of every month, Fourth Ward Block Watch monthly meetings; 9:30 Thursdays, movies are offered with popcorn and hot chocolate; 10:30 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, yoga classes ($5/class) and noon to 1 p.m. Fridays, tai chi ($5/class). Guardian Angels of Trumbull County, a volunteer program of the Trumbull County Probate Court, is looking for volunteers. Angel volunteers receive training to become advocates who reach out as friends to seniors who may need a friendly phone call, a visit in a nursing home, or a visit at home. Angels also are involved in planning special events for seniors such as health fairs and Make a Difference day projects. Ohio Living Park Vista Senior Center, 1110 Fifth Ave., Youngstown, has scheduled free income tax service from 9 a.m. to noon Mondays and Fridays through April 7 by appointment only. Senior Corps Retired Senior Volunteer Program, located in First Presbyterian Church of Youngstown, 201 Wick Ave., is under the Corp. for National and Community Service. It is a volunteer program whose aim is to link volunteers, age 55 and over, with a variety of volunteer opportunities within their community. There are sites throughout Mahoning and Trumbull counties with opportunities such as senior companionship, transcription for museums, meal delivery for home bound seniors, construction and many other opportunities. There is no maximum requirement of volunteer hours. There is a short application, and the program coordinator will meet with volunteers to match them with their preferred site based on their interests, skills and location.
