SWIMMING

The Boardman High School boys swimming team set three records in Saturday’s Division I sectional meet at C.T. Branin in Canton. The 200 freestyle relay (Matthew DunLany, Noah Basista, Kyle Kimerer and Callen Aulizia) won in 1:37.1. Their 400 freestyle relay time was 3:13.49. Auzilia won the 50 freestyle in the record time of 21:04. He was second in the 100 freestyle (45.99). Kimerer won the 100 butterfly (51.790 and was second in the 200 freestyle (1:47). Basista won the 100 breaststroke (59.54) and was second in the 200 IM (1:57.35). DunLany was second in the 500 freestyle (5:02.07). Diver Dominic Mariano was second with 419.35. Fitch’s Timothy Kubacki set a meet record in the 100 backstroke (51.79). He also won the 200 IM in 1:56.09. In the girls meet, a Boardman girls relay team qualified for district. Mikel Flatley, Sarah Murray, Alison Kuras and Jenna Markovitch finished second in the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 1:42.87. In the Division II meet in Akron, two Canfield boys relay teams qualified. The swimmers are Bobby Kutsch, Lake Bennett, Kamran Sarac and Cullen Brady. Their times were 1:29.87 in the 200 freestyle and 3:19.27 in the 400 freestyle. Kutsch also won the 500 freestyle (5:03.74). Crestview’s Jordan Stackpole won the 200 freestyle (1:49.42). In the girls meet, Valley Christian’s Tess Emerson finished second in the 100 backstroke (1:02.66).
