File taxes for free

YOUNGSTOWN

The YWCA of Youngstown, 25 W. Rayen Ave., offers a way to file taxes for free.

To file yourself, visit www.ywca.org/youngstown and click on “File Your Taxes for Free” on the home page. E-file and use direct deposit to receive refunds in as little as seven to 10 days. The YWCA can also help with e-filing or paper filing taxes for free.

Appointments are required except on walk-in days. Walk-in days are from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 24; March 3, 10, 17, 29 and 31; and April 12-14. Appointment days are from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday through Friday; Feb. 21-23 and Feb. 28.

MVYP schedules mixer at the Butler

YOUNGSTOWN

The Mahoning Valley Young Professionals will have its February mixer at The Butler Institute of American Art, 524 Wick Ave., from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday .

The institute will present information about the Young Collectors Group. A Classical Guitar Quartet from YSU’s Dana School of Music also will perform.

Light appetizers and a cash bar will be available.

Webinar for members of America Makes

YOUNGSTOWN

America Makes and Apprenticeship Works, the National Advanced Manufacturing Apprenticeship Partnership at the Robert C. Byrd Institute, will host a free webinar Thursday for America Makes members. The hourlong webinar will begin at 2 p.m.

Participants can learn how registered apprenticeships can meet a company’s needs for additive manufacturing skill sets as well as other advanced manufacturing occupations.

The webinar will dispel the confusion about apprenticeships and answer important questions to help participants determine if an apprenticeship program is the right solution to fill a company’s skills gaps.

Safety council to address dehydration in the workplace

The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber’s Mahoning Valley Safety Council will have “The Effects of Dehydration in the Workplace” from 11:15 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 8 at Leo’s Ristorante, 7042 E. Market St.

The cost to attend is $25 for members and $35 for nonmembers.
