A pedestrian struck by a car while walking west along the roadway near Bell Wick Road about 6 a.m. Saturday has died. The Ohio State Highway Patrol said a vehicle also traveling west on U.S. Route 62 in Hubbard Township struck James Dutting, 76, of Hubbard, who suffered “incapacitating injuries.” He was transported to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.

The 2015 Nissan Altima was driven by Matthew Shaw, 29, also of Hubbard, who was not injured, the patrol said. Hubbard city and township police are also investigating.

STEM Expo set

YOUNGSTOWN

Nearly 60 employers will attend Youngstown State University’s College of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics semiannual Spring 2017 STEM Expo from noon to 4 p.m. Feb. 23 in the Chestnut Room of Kilcawley Center on campus.

Employers from private, nonprofit and government sectors are invited to participate to recruit and fill available internship and co-op, and full-time/entry-level STEM positions. Employers can register until Friday, or until registration is filled at http://www.ysu.edu/academics/science-technology-engineering-mathematics/internships/internship-information-employers.
