The Peter Allen Inn & Event Center, an elegant destination retreat in the farmlands of upper Trumbull County, recently announced the appointment of W. Rick Schilling as its new event designer, overseeing the on-site planning for weddings and all special event decor.

Schilling spent more than 30 years as a theatrical designer and instructor at Youngstown State University and has 20-plus years of experience in many varied aspects of event design and production. After his retirement from higher education, Schilling worked full time in special events, where he helped to create high-end customized private parties, weddings and corporate events.

ACCOUNTING

Cohen & Company, a full-range accounting, tax and consulting service company, recently announced several promotions including that of Marc Mazzella in Youngstown to director of private company tax services and Nicole Rococi as senior manager of private company tax services Youngstown.

FINANCE

Financial-services firm Edward Jones once again has been named a top firm for training its associates, ranking No. 29 on Training magazine’s 2017 Training Top 125 list. This was the firm’s 17th-consecutive appearance on the list, dating back to the debut of the Training Top 50 in 2001.

REALTY

Real Living Volpini Realty Group recently announced Joy Batley joined the company as a new associate.

She earned her real-estate training from Eastern Gateway Community College. Batley also attended Beaver County Community College, where she studied criminal justice. She was a security office for Shippingport Nuclear Power Plant, an information systems department computer operator at Michael Baker International and a quality analyst manager at Infocision. She has also owned rentals for more than 20 years.
