Celebrate Poland pancake breakfast

POLAND

The Celebrate Poland Planning Committee’s second annual pancake breakfast and basket raffle will take place Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon at Poland Seminary High School cafeteria, 3199 Dobbins Road.

The breakfast will include pancakes, sausage and beverages, for a donation at the door. All proceeds will go toward Celebrate Poland’s weekend activities, including bands and fireworks.

Celebrate Poland is in its 11th year and attracts thousands of people for a weekend of community activities June 30 and July 1. For information, go to the Celebrate Poland Facebook page, or email cmbdrb@aol.com.

Lecture at Tyler on Warners, Evans

The Mahoning Valley Historical Society’s next Bites and Bits of History lunch program will take place Thursday at noon at the Tyler History Center, 325 W. Federal St., downtown.

Vince Guerrieri, a journalist and author, will lecture on “The Warner Brothers and Billy Evans: Contemporaries and Youngstown Success Stories.”

Guests can bring a lunch, or visit Overture restaurant, across the street, for a $6 Bites and Bits lunch special. Call Overture at 330-744-9900 to place an order. Coffee, pop and water are available for purchase at the Tyler.
