Guests came to the Austintown library on Jan. 27 to make a hot chocolate packet holder during the new paper crafting program.

Paper Crafting Corner is a new program the Austintown is going to be hosting every month. Every month there will be a new craft guests can make out of paper.

Adult services librarian Lindsey Platt created the class as a way for guests to create something easy and different each time. The supplies used are provided by the library, but are supplies people may have at their homes.

Instructions were typed out and given to each person who came. The guests were able to take home the instructions if they wanted to make the craft again or give them to someone else to try out.

This month was the first time the program occurred. The guests who came made a pocket to hold a packet of hot chocolate. The craft was something that could be given to someone as a nice, handmade gift. The supplies used were paper, crafting scissors, stampers and glue. Guests could use different patterns to imprint on their paper and there were a variety of ink stamps to decorate the hot chocolate pockets. Crafting scissors were used to give the edges of the papers a different shape.

Paper Crafting Corner will take place on the last Friday of the month and the next one will be on Feb. 24.
