Mad About the Arts set at YSU

The 22nd annual Mad About the Arts program will take place from 7 to 10 p.m. Feb. 17 at the McDonough Museum of Art on Youngstown State University campus. The event will feature art, music, dance, wine tasting and food sampling. Proceeds will benefit the museum, YSU’s Center for Contemporary Ideas, Art, Education and Community, and 88.5 WYSU-FM.

The event will begin with a performance by the Jazz Ensemble of YSU, directed by Dr. Kent Engelhardt. Wines and beverages will be available to sample from A&C Beverage, Markko Vineyard, Pressed Coffee Bar & Eatery and Thirsty Dog Brewing Company.

Special menus for the event have been prepared by Aladdin’s, Cassese’s MVR, Inspired Catering by Kravitz Deli and Rulli Bros. Dessert and chocolate will be provided by Giannios Candy, Jimmy’s Italian Specialties, One Hot Cookie and Cafe Augustine.

The galleries “Alex Webb: La Calle Photographs from Mexico” and “Selections from the Collection of the Richard M. Ross Art Museum” will be open.

Dancing will begin at 8 with a performance from the Sensations.

General tickets are $80 per person, and $65 for WYSU and McDonough Museum members, YSU staff, students, faculty and fine arts alumni. Parking will be available for $5 in the M-30 parking deck, 100 Wade St. Due to construction on Wick Avenue, the deck must be entered through the Walnut Avenue entrance, which is next to Cassese’s MVR.
