United Way surpasses $3M fundraising goal

YOUNGSTOWN — United Way of Youngstown and the Mahoning Valley raised $3,002,847 in its 2016 fundraising campaign.

It's the first time the organization has raised more than $3 million since 2004.

The organization credits the success to a focus on early-childhood education and said the donations will allow them to expand its programming this year.
