Senior Fun Day set at Boardman Park

Boardman Park, 375 Boardman Poland Road, will host Senior Fun Day at the Lariccia Family Community Center from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Feb. 16 and 23. The fee is $2, which includes a guest speaker, exercise, crafts, blood-pressure screenings, bingo and lunch.
Food is sponsored by Greenbriar and The Commons at Greenbriar. Armstrong will be sponsoring a Hallmark Valentine’s Day movie beginning at 8:30 a.m. for anyone interested in coming early.
These events are offered to the public by Boardman Park in partnership with Ohio Living Senior Center. Reservations can be made by calling Karen at 330-965-0482 or the park office at 330-726-8105.
Boardman groups set joint meeting

Two Boardman neighborhood groups will have a joint meeting at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Saint Mark’s Church in efforts to strengthen both organizations and to improve the quality of life in their neighborhoods.
The North Boardman Block Watch represents residents west of Market Street between Midlothian Boulevard and Shields Road. The North Boardman Neighborhood Association represents residents of the northern blocks of Boardman Township east of Market Street and east of Southern Boulevard.
The meeting at the church, 280 Mill Creek Drive, also will feature several leaders. Expected to attend are Jason Loree, Boardman Township administrator; Tom Costello and Brad Calhoun, Boardman Township trustees; and Police Chief Jack Nichols.
Weathersfield budget hearing

Weathersfield Township trustees will have a public hearing to approve the final 2016 annual budget and a second hearing to amend the 2017 revenue and appropriation budget at 6:45 p.m. Feb. 14 at the administration building, 1451 Prospect St.
Copies of the budget are available for review in the fiscal officer’s office at the administration building from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Wellness-walk planning session

A planning session for the Mahoning Valley’s fifth annual African American Male Wellness Walk/Run will be at 11:30 a.m. Feb. 21 in the Rose Room at Cobbin Tower, 1350 Fifth Ave. This year’s walk will take place Aug. 12, beginning at the Covelli Centre downtown.
Various health screenings for men begin at 7 a.m. with the walk starting about 9 a.m. There will be a children’s play area, vendors and literature highlighting tips to stay healthy. To volunteer, provide sponsorships or get additional information, go online at www.aawalk.org or call 330-788-1696.
