KINDERGARTEN Registrations

A list of kindergarten registrations and registration information sessions at area school districts as submitted to The Vindicator:

McDonald: Kindergarten registration from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday for residents only. Residents as well as open enrollment students may also register on March 7 and March 25. Parents and/or guardians are required to present the original birth certificate, the child’s Social Security card, proof of residence, and the child’s shot records.

Boardman: The 2017-18 school year’s kindergarten registration from 9 to 11 a.m., 1 to 3 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Feb. 16 at each of the four elementary schools: Market Street, 5555 Market Street; Robinwood Lane, 835 Indianola Road; Stadium Drive, 111 Stadium Drive; and West Boulevard, 6125 West Boulevard. Some requirements include proof of immunization, proof of custody if applicable, a birth certificate, two forms proving residency in the district, $25 and a registration form. The child must be at least 5 on or before Aug. 1. For information contact the respective school.

Poland: The 2017-18 school year’s registration from 9 a.m. to noon March 4 and 11 at Union Elementary School, 30 Riverside Drive. There also will be registration for preschool and after-school programs at that time. New students in first through fourth grades may register at that time, as well. Required information includes immunization records, proof of residency, custody papers, the child’s original birth certificate and Social Security card, and a parent’s license and two utility or credit card bills. Canfield: An informational meeting for parents or guardians of incoming kindergarten students is at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 15 at C.H. Campbell Elementary School, 300 Moreland Drive. The session will include information about transportation, school procedures, kindergarten readiness, age requirements and becoming involved in your child’s school. Kindergarten registration for the 2017-18 school year for students living in Canfield will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at C.H. Campbell on March 7 and Hilltop on April 4. Brookfield: Kindergarten registration for the 2017-18 school year will be offered from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. and from 4 to 6 p.m. March 7, and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. and 4 to 6 p.m. March 8 at Brookfield Elementary School, 614 Bedford Road SE. Children must be 5 years old by Aug. 1. Additionally, parents or guardians must bring all of the following items to registration: official birth certificate, Social Security card, Ohio driver’s license or Ohio ID of parent/guardian, proof of custody (if applicable), current immunization records, and two proofs of residency. Examples include gas bill, phone bill or any bill in the parent’s name that is attached to the house. If not available, a verification of residency form must be completed.

Lowellville: Kindergarten registration for the 2017-18 school year will be 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 13-15 and from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Feb. 16 at the school, 52 Rocket Place. Children who will be 5 by Sept. 30 are eligible to register. Parents and/or guardians will need to bring the child’s birth certificate, immunization record, Social Security card, proof of residency, and proof of legal custody, if necessary. Immunizations necessary to start kindergarten are: 5-DPT, 4-Polio, 2-MMR, 3-Hepatitis B and 2-Chicken Pox.

South Range: The district will take registration for new kindergarten students March 6-10. Parents of children who will be 5 years old before Aug. 1 are asked to register by telephone by calling 330-549-5578 between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. that week. Students must be residents of the South Local Range School District.
