Pedestrian hit
BOARDMAN
A male pedestrian suffered non-life threatening injuries when he was hit by a car while trying to cross U.S. Route 224 at about 7:25 p.m. Thursday just west of Tiffany Boulevard in front of Texas Roadhouse restaurant.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Canfield Post cited David States II, 47, of Boardman, for illegally being in the roadway. The car driver, Justin Gittings, 24, of Poland, was eastbound in the curb lane when he struck States, who was transported to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.
Boardman police and firefighters assisted at the scene.
Mall kindergarten fair
WARREN
Eastwood Mall will host the third annual Trumbull County-Wide Kindergarten Transition Fair from 11 a.m to 3 p.m. Saturday in the mall’s Center Court.
The event provides information about kindergarten programs and registration. Parents and children can meet with educators from numerous school districts, board a school bus and visit topic “stations” based on the Ohio Department of Education Early Learning Standards.
