Jurisprudence Organization gives back to Jaden
WARREN
Kent State University at Trumbull students are helping a classmate’s somber journey with a terminally ill fourth-grade son.
Celeste Rodgers, a member of KSU Trumbull’s Jurisprudence Organization, was recently told her 10-year-old son Jaden has terminal Glioblastoma Multiforme, an aggressive type of brain cancer.
Abby Krafcik, president of the Jurisprudence Organization, said it was an easy decision to step up and plan the benefit Feb. 10 for Rodgers because Rodgers has shown a willingness to help others.
The Jurisprudence Organization helps recently released prisoners get back on their feet with tasks as simple as helping them find money to obtain an ID.
“Celeste does a lot for the community and helps anybody when they need it,” Krafcik said.
Rodgers was touched by the efforts of her peers.
“They were just classmates, but [they] have fast become part of the family in their efforts to help me and Jaden,” she said. “No words can describe how their help has affected my family.”
The benefit is from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Student Union and Lower Commons at KSU at Trumbull’s administration building, 4314 Mahoning Ave. NW.
Tickets for the pasta dinner, prepared by Sam’s Pizza in Newton Falls, can be purchased at the event for $6. Music and entertainment will be provided by Rock4Reason DJ Frank Lindsey.
Proceeds will go to medical and living expenses for the family.
For anyone who cannot attend the event, but who wants to give, visit Jaden’s GoFundMe page, https://www.gofundme.com/jadens-medical-fund.
