Open house planned

Niles Historical Society will host its open house at the Ward-Thomas House, 503 Brown St., from 2 to 5 p.m. Jan. 7 with the last tour beginning at 4 p.m. The house will be decorated with a Christmas in New York City theme and 2018 calendars, featuring recreation in Niles in the past, will be for sale for $10 ($1 if shipped). Pictures include those of Waddell pool, Handy Andy, McKinley Theater, Ma Perkins and more. Calendars also can be purchased by calling 330-652-8329. The monthly meeting of the society will take place at 10 a.m. Jan. 6 in the Westenfield Room.
