New Middletown welcomes new police chaplain

NEW MIDDLETOWN — The New Middletown Village Police Department hired its first chaplain.

The Rev. Larry Frient of St. Paul Parish in New Middletown will serve as chaplain and was sworn in Thursday during village council’s swearing-in ceremony.

Father Frient will work with both officers and with the general public, providing counseling and support services to those in need.
