HUBBARD

Judge Jeffrey Adler of Girard Municipal Court swore in both new and incumbent Hubbard officials at the Hubbard Administration Building to begin their terms next year.

“We’re all joined together to show that Hubbard is one, and we are proud to work together,” Councilwoman Lisha Pompili-Baumiller, D-3rd, said at Thursday night’s event.

Ben Kyle, who previously served as a 1st Ward councilman, was sworn in as a councilman at-large, and Bonnie Viele was sworn in as 1st Ward councilwoman.

Viele replaced Kyle after he moved to another ward.

“I’m very excited to be able to serve this city and to work alongside the other councilmen again,” Kyle said.

Councilman Timothy O’Hara, D-2nd, Pompili-Baumiller, Councilman Michael Toda, D-4th, and Councilmen at-large Jerome Crowe and Justin Silvidi served on council last year and were re-elected for another term. William Williams Sr. was sworn in as the president of the council.

Pompili-Baumiller, who has been on council for 18 years, said she is looking forward to continuing work on improving infrastructure, economic development and city finance with the council.

Marsha Ruha was sworn in as city treasurer, and Michael Villano was sworn in as city auditor.

Tom Jacobs and Rick Hernandez were sworn in as township trustees. James Adam and Anthony Pantone Jr. were sworn in as Hubbard school board members.

The first council meeting of the year will be Tuesday.
