HSC recognized as exceptional provider
NEW CASTLE, PA.
The Human Services Center was recognized Dec. 1 with an exceptional provider award by Value Behavioral Health-PA at the annual provider appreciation breakfast. The staff of HSC received recognition for their use of an open access model for intake services which began in September 2016.
Approximately 50 percent of previously scheduled intake appointments were missed while HSC staff were diverted to prepare for those appointments. HSC staff from the Diagnostic Assessment Center, Outpatient Therapy, Crisis and business office work together to triage individuals and families who walk in between 8:30 a.m. and 9 a.m. Monday through Friday to provide a face-to-face initial assessment, identification of needs and actions that may include an intake assessment with a therapist who will provide ongoing treatment for continuity of care. Individuals and families who walk-in should plan to be at HSC for approximately two hours.
