Patrice Bergeron scored twice in the third period, helping the Boston Bruins beat the Detroit Red Wings for their fourth straight victory. Tuukka Rask finished with 30 saves for Boston. Frans Nielsen scored Detroit’s only goal and Jimmy Howard stopped 23 shots for the Red Wings.

TAMPA, FLA.

Andrei Vasilevskiy stopped 22 shots, Dan Girardi sparked a three-goal barrage with 2:42 left and the Tampa Bay Lightning beat the Minnesota Wild. Girardi made it 1-0 by redirecting Brayden Point’s pass behind goalie Alex Stalock. Tyler Johnson scored 52 seconds later. Stalock made 28 saves.

Oilers 4, Canadiens 1

EDMONTON, ALBERTA

Connor McDavid had a goal and an assist before leaving after blocking a shot late in the third period in the Edmonton Oilers’ victory over the Montreal Canadiens. Ryan Strome, Milan Lucic and Jujhar Khaira also scored and Cam Talbot stopped 29 shots. Andrew Shaw scored for the Canadiens.

Blue Jackets 2, Flyers 1, SO

COLUMBUS

Pierre-Luc DuBois’ first NHL shootout goal lifted the Columbus Blue Jackets to a victory over the Philadelphia Flyers. It was Columbus’ 11th consecutive home victory over Philadelphia dating to 2008. Sergei Bobrovsky stopped 30 shots for his 20th win. Brian Elliott made 35 saves.

SUNRISE, FLA.

James Reimer made 38 saves for his first shutout this season, Jonathan Huberdeau scored in the second period and the Florida Panthers beat the Ottawa Senators. Ottawa backup Mike Condon stopped 37 shots.

Maple Leafs 3, Rangers 2

NEW YORK

Auston Matthews had a goal and an assist in his return from a concussion to help the Toronto Maple Leafs beat the New York Rangers. William Nylander and Ron Hainsey also scored for Toronto, and Frederik Anderson stopped 30 shots. Jimmy Vesey and J.T. Miller scored for the Rangers, and Henrik Lundqvist made 24 saves.

Avalanche 6, Coyotes 2

GLENDALE, ARIZ.

Carl Soderberg scored twice, the first to start a four-goal burst in the second period, and the Colorado Avalanche routed the Arizona Coyotes. After Soderberg opened the scoring at 10:20 of the second, J.T. Compher, Nail Yakupov and Matt Nieto added goals in less than four minutes. Semyon Varlamov stopped 31 shots for the Avalanche, allowing only Derek Stepan’s two short-handed goals.

Marc-Andre Fleury stopped 26 shots for his first shutout with Vegas, William Karlsson scored during a three-goal first period and the Golden Knights beat the Washington Capitals. Alex Tuch and Oscar Lindberg also scored in the first period for Vegas. Braden finished with 25 saves.

Hurricanes 4, Sabres 2

RALEIGH, N.C.

Justin Faulk scored two goals, Teuvo Teravainen had three assists and the Carolina Hurricanes beat the Buffalo Sabres. Sebastian Aho and Jordan Staal also scored for the Hurricanes, and Cam Ward made 20 saves. Nathan Beaulieu and Zemgus Girgensons scored for Buffalo.

Devils 4, Blackhawks 1

NEWARK, N.J.

Cory Schneider made 39 saves, Taylor Hall had a goal and an assist and the New Jersey Devils beat the Chicago Blackhawks. Brian Boyle, Kyle Palmieri and Pavel Zacha also scored for the Devils. Patrick Kane got his 300th goal for Chicago to join Bobby Hull, Stan Mikita, Steve Larmer and Denis Savard as the only players to reach that milestone as Blackhawks.

DALLAS

Alexander Radulov and Tyler Seguin scored during the shootout, Ben Bishop had 29 saves and the Dallas Stars beat the Nashville Predators. Nashville’s Juuse Saros made 25 saves. Ryan Johansen had a goal and an assist.
