Fraud: A Canfield woman discovered nine $100 gift cards, six of which she had bought at a Mahoning Avenue grocery store, were invalid.

Drugs: A traffic stop near Interstate Boulevard led to the arrest of Khadeem O. Galloway, 25, of North Edgehill Avenue, Austintown, on a charge of possessing dangerous drugs when, authorities alleged, 17 whole and two partial over-the-counter pills were found for which he had no prescription. Also taken into custody was Leila M. Williams, 36, of Cleveland, who was wanted on a local warrant charging failure to appear in court.

Theft: Various DVDs were removed from a return bin at the Austintown branch of the Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County, 600 S. Raccoon Road.

Theft: Someone used gift cards determined to be invalid at Giant Eagle, 5220 Mahoning Ave.

Fraud: An unauthorized account was reportedly opened at a South Canfield-Niles Road long-term care facility, resulting in $436 worth of fraudulent activity.

Robbery: Two workers with Boost Mobile Store, 5221 Mahoning Ave., told authorities a heavyset gunman wearing black clothing and a green bandana demanded money and ordered them to lie on the ground in a back room before stealing an iPhone and fleeing on foot.

Identity theft: A Dunbar Avenue resident discovered an account had been hacked and two laptop computers were bought via fraudulent means.

Arrests: Officers charged Jacinta L. Baugh, 30, with obstructing official business after alleging Baugh, of Almyra Avenue, Youngstown, refused several times to leave the area, which hampered their investigation after they had made an arrest at a North Canfield-Niles Road motel. Beforehand, authorities charged Xzavius A. Johnson, 35, of West Evergreen Avenue, Youngstown, with one felony drug-abuse count when, they further alleged, a piece of tin foil with suspected cocaine was found.

Theft: Eli D. Mladenoff, 32, was charged after a pair of gloves, a hat and other merchandise was stolen from Marc’s, 4755 Mahoning Ave. Mladenoff, of South Raccoon Road, Austintown, also was wanted on a warrant charging him with failing to appear in Austintown Area Court.

Auto theft: A 2007 Chevrolet Coronado was stolen in the 3600 block of Wendover Avenue.

Burglary: To a garage in the 4600 block of Warwick Drive, from which a power washer was taken.

Recovered property: A license plate was found at an apartment complex in the 2200 block of South Raccoon Road.

Theft: A man reportedly stole T-shirts and fled from Walmart, 6001 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: Someone in the 3900 block of Cannon Road entered and ransacked a vehicle before stealing various items.

Theft: Gift cards were removed from two cars in the 3600 block of Brockview Court.

Recovered property: A 2003 Dodge vehicle was found abandoned off Allendale Avenue after having been reported stolen in the 4500 block of Warwick Drive.

Theft: A student at Austintown Fitch High School reported an electronic notebook stolen.

Theft: Jerry W. Boggess, 42, no address listed, faced charges of theft and obstructing official business after a package of razor blades, a bottle of lotion, auto-care products and other items were stolen from Walmart. Boggess, who also was wanted on two warrants, provided a false name, a report showed.

Dec. 1

Drugs: Authorities charged Deon T. Johnson of Sherwood Avenue, Youngstown, with carrying concealed weapons, drug abuse and failure to comply with police after alleging Johnson, 25, led them on a vehicular pursuit when they had tried to pull him over near Mahoning Avenue. Found in his vehicle were a plastic bag that contained four bags of suspected marijuana, a separate bag of suspected marijuana, a loaded .380-caliber handgun and an unloaded revolver, a report stated.

Theft: Two lawn ornaments were stolen from a yard in the 100 block of Hickory Lane.

Theft: Someone took a global positioning system unit from a car in the 4600 block of Warwick Drive.

Identity theft: A Sturbridge Avenue resident found out an unauthorized account had been opened without consent.

Recovered property: A 2012 Cadillac CTS was recovered on East Lucius Avenue in Youngstown after having been stolen in the 100 block of North Kimberly Avenue.

Theft: A cellphone was removed from a gym locker at Austintown Middle School on South Raccoon Road.

Burglary: Took place at an apartment in the 1000 block of Compass West Drive. A door, a window and articles of clothing sustained damage.

Dec. 2

Assault: Police responded to a report that a person was pushed against a car during a fight in the 100 block of Edgewater Drive.

Theft: Someone stole $616 from a vehicle at a Mahoning Avenue big-box store.

Dec. 8

Burglary: To an apartment in the 1000 block of Compass West Drive, from which furniture was reportedly removed.

Theft: An undisclosed sum of money was reportedly stolen from Walmart, 6001 Mahoning Ave.

Dec. 9

Recovered property: A purse was found in the 1200 block of Ohltown Road.

Unauthorized use of a vehicle: A car that had been taken without permission in the 400 block of South Raccoon Road was in a crash in Weathersfield Township.

Dec. 10

Criminal damaging: Someone with a pellet gun shot and broke a window to a building in the 1000 block of North Meridian Road.

Dec. 11

Theft: A metal ashtray was reported stolen from a home in the 100 block of North Beverly Avenue.

Arrest: Police picked up Joseph R. Davis, 21, at his Cannon Road residence. The Austintown man was wanted on two Struthers Municipal Court warrants.

Theft: Four suitcases were taken from a vehicle at an Interstate Boulevard motel.

Theft: Someone in the 2900 block of Whispering Pines Court removed a Christmas tree from a driveway.

Dec. 12

Arrest: James E. Cominsky of Westminster Avenue, Austintown, was taken into custody after authorities learned Cominsky, 46, was wanted on a Girard Municipal Court warrant accusing him of failing to comply with a court order.

Recovered property: A toy gun was reportedly found in the 70 block of Evans Avenue.

Possible drug overdose: A woman reportedly suffered a drug overdose at an apartment in the 4800 block of Westchester Drive. Four syringes, a spoon with burn marks and a suspected crack-cocaine pipe were among items found, a report showed.

Theft: Someone stole a hat and a pair of gloves from Walmart.

Theft: A data-collecting machine was stolen from Comprehensive Logistics LLC, 365 Victoria Road.
