Boardman Park had a Supper with Santa in the Lariccia Family Community Center on Dec. 6 and 7 as a part of their holiday programming at the park.

The event offered dinner, crafts, games and a picture with Santa. The park received help from Boardman schools’ PANDA club for the event.

Stacie Hoover said that the supper has become a tradition in her family.

She said, “it’s a great time. The kids love to see Santa and do the crafts and activities.“ They said they have come for the last five years and that they will continue to attend the event in the future.

Families had dinner in the dining area of the community center. The park played Christmas movies on a projector while families ate. They also offered cookies and cupcakes for dessert.

The park had several crafts in the activity room. They had a Christmas stamps out for children to decorate paper. The tables had paper gingerbread man crafts that families could hang on their trees. Families could take pictures with Santa in the room as well.

The children also played games in the room. They had a giant version of Connect Four on one side of the room. On the other side, they set up an area where the children could play with fake snow.

Boardman Park has offered Supper with Santa every year for 15 years. The event also gives the park an opportunity to showcase their “Winter Wonderland” lighting display throughout the park during the holiday season.
