Dascenzo to run for judge for Mahoning County Common Pleas Court


YOUNGSTOWN — Dan Dascenzo, a magistrate in the Mahoning County Common Pleas Court, has declared his candidacy to be the next common pleas court judge.

Dascenzo will seek the nomination of the Democratic Party in the 2018 May primary to replace Judge Lou D’Apolito, who has reached the maximum age for judges in Ohio. Dascenzo has served as magistrate for Judge D’Apolito since 2008, where he has presided over more than 10,000 civil and criminal cases.

He previously served as a trial lawyer representing small businesses and labor organizations. Dascenzo is also an armed forces veteran, having served as a combat engineer in the Ohio Army National Guard.
