Marchionda trial postponed until March

YOUNGSTOWN — The trial of downtown property developer Dominic Marchionda and his affiliated businesses on 105 criminal count has been postponed.

When he was indicted Oct. 2, the original trial date was Dec. 11, but that was continued at the request of Marchionda. The next court date is a March 16 pretrial hearing with Judge Maureen Sweeney of Mahoning County Common Pleas Court.

Marchionda and his companies are accused of misusing money obtained from the city as well as state and federal governments for the Flats at Wick student housing complex, and Erie Terminal Place and Wick Towers downtown apartment projects.
