BOARDMAN

Leaders of the Spartan Stadium project announced a new $120,000 donation to help complete the final phase of the project.

The donation comes from Bill and Karen Veri, who previously provided $150,000 in 2016 to fund construction of a band shell.

“Community support continues to amaze us, and Bill and Karen Veri’s contributions have been vital in keeping the stadium project moving as we close in on the finish line,” said Boardman Boosters President Bruce Flyak. “We want to remind everyone about our locker campaign and brick campaign, where you can also leave a legacy when you donate.”

The final phase of the stadium project will add 134 locker rooms, a formal front facade with a donor wall, concessions with an eating area, public restrooms and ticket booths. The total cost of this phase is estimated at $650,000.

A check presentation is scheduled for 6:45 p.m. Tuesday at the high-school gymnasium.
