Warriors Rock concert postponed

YOUNGSTOWN

The Warriors Rock concert slated for Saturday at the Youngstown Playhouse has been‚ã ‚ãpostponed due to unforeseen circumstances, according to a news release from the company.

The show, which features Gary Racan and the Studio E Band, will be rescheduled for an as-yet-undetermined date in the spring.

Tickets holders may call 330-788-8739 or visit the Youngstown Playhouse box office for a refund or information.

Magazine to honor rapper Missy Elliott

NEW YORK

Essence magazine will honor Missy Elliott at a pre-Grammy Award event next year.

Essence said Thursday that Elliott, a hit-making rapper, singer, producer and songwriter, will be honored at the magazine’s annual “Black Women in Music” event. It will take place Jan. 25 at the Highline Ballroom in New York City.

Clay, watercolors classes at gallery

A class in clay hand-building for beginning and continuing students age 18 and up, taught by Jesse Wilson, will take place Mondays and Wednesdays from Jan. 8 to 31, from 1 to 3 p.m. or 6 to 8 p.m., at Trumbull Art Gallery, 158 N. Also, an Introduction to Watercolors class, taught by Linda Scharf, will take place at the gallery Thursdays and Saturdays, Jan. 4, 11, 18 and 25, from 1 to 3 p.m. or 6 to 8 p.m.

Students will learn the techniques of watercolors by completing three paintings: flowers, still life and landscape. The fee is $40.
