MCCTC Holiday Event

When: Through Friday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

What: Support the horticulture program at Mahoning County Career and Technical Center, 7300 N. Palmyra Road, Canfield, by ordering your poinsettias, wreaths, pine roping, silk wreaths, centerpieces and more. All items made by horticulture students.

Where: MCCTC floral shop and greenhouse.

Sprout Club

When: Today, 1-2 p.m.

What: Join the Sprout Club this winter to learn about the amazing world of plants.

Where: Fellows Riverside Gardens, 123 McKinley Ave. Youngstown.

Cost: $7/class or $15/series

Details: For ages 3-5, plus adult.

Christmas Bird Count

When: Saturday, 8 to 8:45 a.m. or 8:45 to 9:30 a.m.

What: The Great Christmas Bird Count is a century-old tradition with participants as far north as the Arctic Circle and as far south as the southern tip of Argentina.

Where: Ford Nature Center, 840 Old Furnace Road, Youngstown.

HOLIDAY CAMP

When: Sunday, 1 to 5 p.m.

What: Need somewhere to drop off your children for a couple of hours so you can get some holiday shopping done? Leave them with us. We will explore our winter wonderland, enjoy hot cocoa and cookies, and make a gift.

Where: Yellow Creek Park, 17 Lowellville Road, Struthers.

Cost: $10 first child; $7 each additional sibling.

Details: Age 6 to 13. Register and pay at Ford Nature Center by Friday.

Winter Celebration Nights

When: Saturday, 5-7 p.m.

What: Experience the outdoor light display, near the Davis Center, and the Toy Workshop and Reindeer Games. Browse the Shop in the Gardens and savor refreshments available for purchase in the Garden Cafe.

Where: Fellows Riverside Gardens.

Cost: Craft fee, $1.

Details: The gardens are open late until 7 p.m. Saturdays in December.

Holiday Centerpiece

When: Tuesday, 6:30-8:30 p.m.

What: Create a beautiful addition for your holiday table with Marie Borocz. Register/pay by Sunday.
