CLEVELAND
Former city man Ricardo B. McKinney, 32, was sentenced to 27 years in prison Wednesday for possessing two firearms and 3.6 pounds of heroin in a home on North Road in Warren in 2015.
McKinney was convicted during a jury trial in March of two counts of distribution of heroin, one count of possession with the intent to distribute 1 kilogram or more of heroin and one count of being a felon in possession of firearms.
Warren police conducted a raid at a house where McKinney was staying on North Road in February 2015. There they found heroin with a street value of $250,000, two guns and about $6,000 in cash.
“Between the kilo of heroin he had, and the two firearms he possessed despite being a felon, this defendant was a clear danger to the people of Warren,” said Justin Herdman, U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Ohio. “Law enforcement worked collaboratively in this case to make Trumbull County a safer place.”
