Lions Club sponsors visit from St. Nicholas

The Youngstown Lions Club hosted its 97th annual Christmas party for visually impaired and special needs kids Dec. 5 at the Saxon Club. More than 100 children received a turkey dinner and gifts from Santa. A DJ provided dance music, and Lions Club members served guests and distributed presents. The club raises money for the event through its annual Turtle Derby in June. Students participated from Chaney and East high schools, Volney Rogers, McGuffey and Williamson elementary schools, Leonard Kirtz School and South Side Academy.
